Microwave popcorn toxic?

Nooooooooo, not the microwave popcorn! But alas, yes.  Apparently microwave popcorn bags are lined with toxic perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA). This possible carcinogen when heated releases the toxins into the popcorn which you then eat. Yuck.

A good reason to go for the good old fashioned popcorn.

    Now I have to think back to my childhood - a bit of oil in the bottom of the saucepan and chuck in the popcorn with the lid on top. Shake the saucepan around so it doesn't burn. Then when cooked you can add salt or butter to your preference. You can get the popcorn in bags in the same section as the microwave popcorn. The good news is it is cheaper!
